Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Associates' Personal Plans Moving Forward

Obviously we cannot expect clear answers from our own leadership. I am an HCMRN X1 year with HAH, and still have a job as of today, unclear about the future. I'm not trying to pry, so if your incomfortable sharing please do not. I'm just curious about what others plan to do? Move on? Stick around? How many are ACTUALLY going to get full licensure???

Why would anyone at least not be looking for a new job? I had been looking prior to this situation and have no intention of staying. I just wish that they would accept volunteers for layoffs because I know that other people are in different situations than me.

Look in the binoculars and place the focus on you not on the company. Your life, your success, your fulfillment all come from within you... to reiterate what another commentor said :

" Re-assess my future goals and pursue my passion. Workplace termination is difficult to accept, but is accepting when the termination is not taken personally. Redirect your perspective to realign your future. Accept that your assignment, story, or experience with Humana has ended and begin a new chapter. Your best is ahead of you! Stay positive! "

The way to do this is focus, think about and discuss what you can do and have control over ....not what the company ie Humana or other is going to do. Not even Humana top execs probably know what is going to happen and the impact it is going to have on people. You count on you. When you get to retirement you begin to wonder what you were striving worrying about all those years of hard work.., and why you did not spend more time enjoying good health, and all of the things that come with that.

SNP HCM RNs were told not to refer to SS for any community resources. We are now to find the resources while on our phone calls (supposed to be 20 minutes or less each) as we complete multiple surveys, make sure we go over every last topic from the previous call, and then update the care plan. The SSs were our best buddies and the ability to refer to them will be sorely missed for their unique expertise. It is the members who are ultimately going to suffer.

HCC positions were cut entirely. Does anyone know what program RNs were cut from and what program RNs are doing Social work in?? Trying to make sense of all this before the hammer drops again.

I am grateful to have employment until April 3rd, which gives me time to reassess my future goals and pursue my passion. Workplace termination is difficult to accept, but is accepting when the termination is not taken personally. Redirect your perspective to realign your future. Accept that your assignment, story, or experience with Humana has ended and begin a new chapter. Your best is ahead of you! Stay positive!

I am a PHC not laid off. I have lost all trust in this company and I won't be sticking around.

Perhaps I missed it in the call, but I thought he said the the CHE, PHC, and HCC were roles that were going to Puerto Rico, he didn't mention Hcm-ss

So nurses did lose their jobs. That's why they are moving people around. Teams will have 30 nurses now. How slimy of Humana. I'm disgusted.

oh and. I'd LOVE it if Humana reimbursed me to obtain FULL licensure. Heck. Think what my resume would look like then?! I could go anywhere if this doesn't work out.

unfortunately that's management material and management lingo... to answer and yet not. It was a waste of my time today to go to a meeting hoping for answers sure. especially when I am more stressed out about metrics than ever before and that hour could have been used to call more members. I don't like how he didn't answer, but I didn't honestly expect him to. Those were hard questions that he might not even have the answer yet. I think they are scrambling to maximize and prioritize and get the profit margin down. We have a lot of members sure, but we also have a lot of employees that affect that margin significantly.

Yes, he always talks in circles , that is nothing new . I am an HCM RN , now we are doing social work along with applying for more licenses . I did love this job, but not since Frank came in. I will not work anymore overtime and I work smart to get my calls in . I am sorry for those who lost their job

Plan to also find a new job ASAP. NO trust. And I will warn everyone I can that that perfect work at home job to make life/work balance possible is a figment of their imagination.

My fellow coworkers and I who were laid off are all saying we are unlikely to stay, even if offered another position.

My plan is to find another job. I am not trusting my future to Humana. They don't deserve my trust. He could not even be honest today. Talking in circles. Never trust a man who speaks out of both sides of his mouth.
