Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

How did they come to the decision to layoff certain SM

At my store the SMS who got laid off where all

Under the ASM who quit on Black Friday because he was being pushed out. It seems like they got rid of anyone that had anything to do with him. Even if the SM had the highest scorecards in the store. They kept brand new managers who still don't know what they are doing. How did they come up with who they eliminated because everyone is very angry and upset her with how they did these cut backs. Seems like they got rid of who ever they didn't like even if they were the best in the store

I'm sure that the long process that was used was created by legal and not HR.

Having having your store manager answer veey specfic questions having a district HR director from outside of your District or region then compile the rest of the assessment using sime magic algorithm. Offering some another position within the company of "some sorts" in some cases . and I'm sure the amount of the severance packages world within some legal guideline.

Good luck with at lawsuit when the law is that they are an at will employer. Meaning they can fire for you looking a certain way... they don't like your dyed purple hair... As The President would say... YOU'RE FIRED!

Pretty sure they kept who they wanted. I got let go and only have a year of service but they kept someone with 30+ years of service. Does anyone think we could bring a lawsuit against Macy's? I feel like the metrics used should have been disclosed.

The key thing you said was newer SM's....a lot cheaper than tenured SM's with experience. It's all about money. I'm sure before your scorecard was looked at your yearly salary was.
