Just announced STI subject to 80% modifier.
Thanks, EWAs, for failing to keep pace with the demand.

@LFz7HNJ-3lwo Not sure you meant trials but either way 5G has one major flaw....It's wireless. There are just too many variables in wireless service... At its current state, (wireless service) Is ok for voice conversation and some media in a comfortable setting. But expect 5G to run in large towns and even cities and to expect it to run that size data that fast with that amount through that many variables to the satisfaction of a customer today is impossible. They just do not have the technology believe it or not.
Remember customers will except hit and miss service when they are mobile....But they will not except hit and miss service in their homes.
Most people in the know see 2020 or 2021 as being the earliest 5G will be available. And the only way it will achieve the speeds people imagine is under ideal signal strength conditions. Otherwise, it is still 4G ... at best.
Oh and keep in mind, Verizon is under a major budget crunch that won't be getting any better. Just look at your 80% STI. So if more R&D $$$ is needed, Verizon may not have it available.

And by the time 5G comes about, the 2019 contract will already be locked.
This is a silly argument with a lot of bad information. Wireline and wireless are both here to stay for the foreseeable future, the company is starving wireline because they hate the union, and almost nobody in the company is "relaxed and comfortable" anymore because upper mgmnt thinks creating an environment of constant unnecessary stress equals leadership.
5g trails have already started in tier1 markets. Enjoy your contract
@LFz7HNJ-3uom No wonder it's years away from reality. Morons like you putting it in and posting complete crap here.
I don't care what network you build if this company doesn't change with consumer demand (unlimited data) and stop making big dumb purchases (aol & yahoo) there won't be any customers left.
No research needed, I'm putting the network in, dope.
@LFz7HNJ-2xmv 5G is coming and so is Christmas. Do a little research before posting. 5G still needs major breakthroughs in technology and to clear mountains of hurdles before you see that in any capacity in the field. The "roll out" is for Wall Street entertainment and to keep investors investing in the "growing" Verizon company.
Again a little research will tell you what you should know before posting.
@2PAD
you are kidding right? The FCC is now Verizon beeotch. They will run the show as they please. FIOS 5g is coming, it is being placed now. Lowell will retire and this company will explode.
I'd be surprised if there is even a company left by the time contract expires in August 2019. The mgt (if u can call their ineptitude that) is running this place right into the ground.
So while the SCABs were bragging about making big $$$ during the strike, Lowell and friends were already working on getting that $$$ back by taking it from the manager's STI.
Is it any wonder why "managers" make the best SCABs. Genius!
I'm union and get STI.
@LFz7HNJ-2wcm Correct the Union employees do not get STI, therefore, there is no incentive to sell your soul or jump through hoops and stand on your head while juggling with your feet for a bonus. I have to say the Union boys are pretty relaxed and comfortable.
STI Short Term Incentive...It's a bonus that comes every February....IF you do a good job. :)
You should note, union employees don't get the STI.
@1yhw STI = short term incentive that Verizon employees get at the end of February every year. 80% is a low payout compared to previous years.
The wireless and wireline mgt are expert Kool-Aid drinkers....they would probably PAY to be on the V Team.
I'm sure your lowered expectations will be met next year.
If you stay long enough, you can work for free.
What does this mean? 80 STI?
People do not want slow hit and miss spotty service in their homes....that's why Big Red finally see's that their over saturated over priced over rated wireless network that every company has now...is not the way to please a customer.
They are now peddled to the floor into their new state of the art unmatched anywhere in the United States top of the "line" Fiber Optics network. A network the can ONLY bring lighting super fast uninterrupted media to the home. Not the old crappy hit and miss service that the tired old wireless "delivers"
As you day by day wait for technology to give you a breakthrough. The Wireline is booming, the guys and girls are working hard, It's what the customer wants....Each day you stare at the door waiting for your number to be called and then shown the door with a box of your things in your arms.
Oh, what goes around comes around...Karma is truly a b--ch, isn't it?
Thanks good to know, I thought lower.
Take care all!
Why do you all complain? It is better than nothing and some companies don't even give them!
@1tmt - Hey dummy. Try taking some accountabilty last I checked the strike ended over six months ago.
Only a fat union slob would blame EWA labor more than six months after the fact.
You people are full of excuses and practibly as unemployable as a government employee.
Keep it up fuktard.
Its the arrogant attitude that vz has, treat their customers like crap ,leave people out of service for weeks at a time, etc etc and treat their employees like crap also,so now their tower of crapola is coming down on them hard.Lets see what they have up their sleeve if 5G doesnt save them.ypu have to say hummmm....
Was that the time traveling movie with Ashton Kutcher? Does it cover proper ladder loading technique?
Hey dummy, when your place a fios order and the due date keeps increasing, you tend to lose business .When trouble tickets take weeks to clear, you tend to lose business. Every hear of the snowball effect.
Well. Now they can have 20% less work too.
Who cares what management gets...I'm getting my union negotiated profit sharing check come March.

The way I heard it, several are out there, even now, trying to get that ladder on the truck.
@DQQ - What EWA was putting a ladder on a truck in December of 2016?
Yes dummy, taking 20 minutes to put a ladder on a truck isn't productive.
OP is a union clown who thinks the world revolves around the tiny numbers wireline squeaks out.
Tell me OP: Why did Q4 2016 FiOS numbers miss estimates? You going to blame that on EWA's too?
You refuse to work, forcing others to do you job, now you blame them for not doing it well enough.
I think it should have been zero with all that money going to our former CFO for doing a great job during the past 27 years.
So much for the down payment on my dream home 😁
Pwi - agreed, I was speculating 60% STI and 0% profit sharing, so welcome news.
I would guessed something much lower .....
