Thread regarding Sears layoffs

5321 promotion

I haven't had one person I have signed up for a Sears MasterCard in the last two days that has made a significant purchase (over 600.00) get the 2% back in points.

That would be at least $12.00 on a $600.00 purchase. I had a guy spend 1100.00 and he only got 11.00. It isn't working.

I'm afraid to promote it now. Why can't anything work like it's supposed to here?

I'm afraid to Pebble about it because knowing Sears they will make us start scanning a bar code which I am not going to remember to do for every sale.

Nice promotion corporate. If you read this site corporate, IT ISNT WORKING DING DONGS!!!!!

GRRRRRRRR........

Wait till you get a new Treasury Secretary, and your income tax return is in the form of Reward Points.

Won't that be nice?

My personal problem with 5321 "driving traffic into the stores" is that the stores need to have items people want to purchase. I'm not sure that they do. Not enough to jump through the hoops for this promotion.

Better buyers or giving free reign to the current buyers would be a start. This is not the time to cut back on merchandise in the stores and that's all I see.

If you didn't open the Sears MC within a certain timeframe (since Oct 2016 I-- I think) but have the card from earlier, you don't automatically get 5321. You have to request it. There is some kind of complex rollout of 5321 for the earlier card holders with March being one of the dates but you can call Citibank to request it sooner.

I did read somewhere that promotional financing will keep you from getting the higher points. But it's only 2% vs 1% so the whole thing shouldn't be a big deal & that's the problem really.

Unless you're going to the GAS Station a lot within the next year, there really isn't much benefit.

The 5321 promotion makes no sense to anyone who even watches tv and sees the commercials for credit cards. The percentages may be higher but they can only be used at sears or Kmart, as opposed to points on a flight for a vacation. I had a customer telling how he loved using his American Express becouse one he got to $500 he got a $100 credit on his bill. I find a credit on the bill more useful than points that expire and always have issues. We had someone promoted to a "management" position. She now runs around hassling everyone about why the shop your way numbers are low and why we havent been getting credit apps. The answer to both is simple. The public knows that sears is sinking; in the case of syw they don't want their info sold by sears; in the case of the credit cards, who knows what would happen and best to steer clear. Their are better cards out there.

I'm surprised anyone is agreeing to sign up for it. $10k in spending gets you $300, whoopdie do.

The whole 5321 thing is blah. Don't know what the big deal is, really...There are better cards out there. Sears needs to go back to the drawing board.

We are saying you can use on top of all

Promotions. That is what the training says.

"Oh I'm sorry if you are using deferred interrest you only get 1%".

Pitch that that as well.

Seriously?

Where does it say that? The 2% should be on top of that.

The deferred interest is the appliance promotion.

The 5321 promotion is a credit card promotion.

They can't take it away now because of defered interest.

It is a flawed promotion.

Did you have special financing on the purchase? If so it always takes the place of any extra points and only gives 1% back
