What do you want? That the technically most competent person is leading the company? Hell, then Steve Jobs never never never should have been CEO of anything.
You want to see what a company led by technical experts looks like? Then look at Nokia after Jorma Ollila (an economist who made Nokia market leader) stepped down as CEO in 2006. A boardroom full of geeks, full of technical experts who could probably take a phone apart, put it back together and improve some key details in the process. And where did it get them?
System Engineering in iCDG is one of the most useless parts of the business unit. Huge savings potential there. Happy to be rid of some of the worst deadwood already. Funny to hear them complain now. Nobody misses them.
