Shutting down Hydralift!

In an effort reduce engineering cost and project complications, Rig has decided to halt all HPS and HR sales and orders and offer incentives to switch any existing orders to an equivalent TDX product. It's being done to decrease reliance on Norwegian expertise and engineers.

If Hydralift products are beeing replaced, the innovation will stop, and NOV will not be a leading drilling company in the furure. Key personal in Norway is already leaving for better Jobs in Cameron.

Last I heard the cranes were going to stay put, but that the other drilling products were going to be replaced with existing Varco products (TDX line) and newly developed products incorporating the best of both worlds.

Norway will not have any lead on any newly developed projects going forward as they don't want the knowledge to get locked up on their tiny island.

They're a joke. It's all about protecting people's private little kingdoms.

So noengineers went to Houston which means no experienced people for this product line and from what I hear a sales group that has no product knowledge and do not report to the product VP so no push to sell

Sad state for a product line of all range of cranes and mooring systems

Poor leadership from VP down the ladder

Goiod luck to those left in this group

Have some damn respect for the engineers who gave their lives for the St. Paul facility. Your heartless comment just reflects the lack of soul that Rig in Houston apparently appears to have. Talk is cheap and what was thrown away can't be regained. Arrogance will get you nowhere. Think everything is all about money, money, money. If that was true, how come so many people despise Trump and everything he stands for.

St. Paul... the home of people who thought they were good, but in reality were the runts of the litter.

I agree with You can't teach stupid

We had great people up here in St Paul until RU took over

St Paul lost a lot of great people and the same for our plant we had building cranes

Product line was doomed from the start

Glad everyone here in St Paul got better jobs

Should have kept St Paul around and cut ties with the other dummies. We made plenty of money up here.

It's funny when the Dundee mafia tries to justify their workforce. I've never seen a Scot who could work on Cyberbase. They already know everything. In my experience in I&C they can fix a top drive like nobody's business, but put them in front of anything with a screen and they'll be as confused as Groundskeeper Willie in a desert.

Equipment, so complicated, that only a handful of individuals can repair, is doomed to loose out to the competition. Can you say Amphion?

Disagree with last statement, UK service engineers are deemed competent and are classed as Cyberbase engineers by working on Norwegian equipment. The Dundee office managers are the best and they know how good their engineers are. Its a real blessing to have such good managers

The Norwegians made their equipment so difficult to maintain and teach to operate, only they can maintain it.
