Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I noticed that bring your own device is being rolled out. Anyone hearing anything about company provided cell phones being pulled back?

This is how Honeywell thinks they'll catch the person leaking info. Must be the plan of one of the senior leaders that thinks the worker bees are stupid enough to comply.

Tough getting through to new hires. Seems like they aren't even assigned company phones. How cheap can HON get?

Since management reads this, I'd rather bring my own toilet paper to work.

Give the most competent IT department the ability to remote wipe my personal device? No thanks...

It would be a snowy day in Phoenix in August before I would even entertain the idiotic thought of putting anything Honeywell on my personal device of any kind!

No. In fact, the documentation specifically says the BYAD program is for employees not entitled to get a company phone, and those employees can't use BYAD.

Anyone that would use a personAL device for company business is crazy... didn't work out well for the dnc did it? Software exists to partition work from personal stuff. Work is encrypted in a vm container.

Communication is posted right on front page of Intranet. Title is "Work securely from your personal device"

Anyone that would use their personal device for company business is crazy. That makes all your personal info in your phone discoverable in a company related investigation...they can search your personal for anything related to a legal matter, investigation, etc. Facebook, text messages, pics, contacts, etc would all be fair game if an issue came up where they looked at the data in your phone. Never, ever use your personal device for company business. Ever. Period.

Also, why would you not make HON spend the money on getting you a mobility device if HON requires you be be in contact outside the office. That's just another way that HON is being cheap and crapping on the employee. Geez HON, how many Billions do we make and how profitable is our stock yet you want us to pay for our own phones. Get bent.

And where did you notice this? If your going to start a rumor, you shouldn't have said noticed. Unless you have something to back it up.

Let's hope so. I'd take that to mean no more working after hours.

I've not heard anything at Phx engines.
