Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chemical EOR was not economic even when we had $90+ oil price.

I'd be interested to see the achievements of that unit over the past 10 years... they have spent and charged the BUs millions of dollars without a single successful project.

They're all better off if they go back to UT and work under that same professor. That way they can at lease boast about their scientific publications while feeding their big egos ....

1pjd, unfortunately, there are a handful of bullies on this site who are abusive and rude. Look what they have done to the site. There is not much posts anymore and there is a lot of stupid, name-calling and irrational comments being posted constantly. Ignore these stupidities as it is all a reflection of those people.

Say you have a (super) giant oil field that's in late life water flood with water cut > 99%. CVX has several of these globally. How else do you recover the billions of barrels remaining? Don't they teach these fundamentals at LSU?

What is a Googling? Is it something you do at a strip club?

Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (Chemical EOR) operation relies on the proper uses of advanced chemicals (surfactants and polymers, etc). You can find more info on this by Googling "Chemical EOR".
