Yep, just heard from a very reliable source, who is way high up in the VZ food chain, I'm talking these people were those tight fitting black marketing queer t-shirts types that there will be at least a 30% reduction in force effecting wireless along with closing several 100's of stores nation wide. Note: this is top secret, so please do not spread this around! I feel bad for the upcoming affected people.

Those guys in wireless running the cloud are a joke. They have been playing with it for over a year, and nothing. Felton is a first class a$$hole.

Good to be union!... I wish more folks would join.. we would be alot stronger together! It wouldn't stop layoffs all together but it would be based on seniority instead of favoritism.
Lifetime health insurance at 25 years. What are u talking about. U get no retirement benefits. Exp your phone plan which is a joke. And some health care that's about 1400 bucks a month. And u could have 25 years and start at 20 years old. Your not even close to 75 points. So I have no clue wtf your talking about.
Dreaded? When I got RIF'd it was one of the happiest days of my life. Been over 2 years now and don't miss that cesspool one bit.

@1lgf you will probably be next since you have 24 years in. Verizon Wireless doesn't like to support anyone's lifetime health insurance coverage. I have seen people that had only weeks left until their 25 anniversary that were let go. Good Luck! I hope you make it and won't end up just another number...

Friend, wireless of 24 yrs now working at hidden ridge mentioned rumor last night. Said 30 pct, no date referenced.
No question it's Wireless......Wireline needs to hire at this point.
Also remember the incompetency in cloud strategy. Having a very good network as well as data centres did not produce any result. Thanks to some real morons at the top. Only thing they know is to hire in India and fire people here.

Leadership has not changed. And this is the same leadership that has ruthlessly fired 10's of thousands because of their poor strategies.

I doubt anyone can/will confirm an April layoff but look around. This place is on a death spiral. New products are flopping, customers are leaving...Verizon is bloated and in debt. There are going to be mass casualties throughout the year. Wake up people!
