The interim CEO has only a limited time to turn this ship around to be more profitable. He is being very aggressive so he can receive his bonus. Remember a permanent CEO is still to be announced. Think of how every ship works when one has to come back to port to be supplied. The helm is handed over to the pilot to guide thru the dangerous waters. At some point the pilot will step off the ship and it will continue under control of the original captain BDD.
