Pro Service Specialist - should I be worried?

Pro Service Specialist for 2 years now. I think I'm doing well. No issues, good sales, get along with management, get along with customers, work hard and keep my mouth shut. With all the restructuring should I be worried?

A major focus for Lowes is ProServices. I wouldn't be worried.

Don't believe rumors! Have some confidence in management as they have been informed of cascaded information from the source.

A lot of people on this site are scared and angry which is making them respond negatively besides looking at the big picture.

Keep your head up and we will get through this together.

My old store is having a mandatory all store Meeting Sunday to address the rumors, including this one. Not that you can expect the truth from management.

They are rolling out a new Flooring program where the specialists sets up the detail to be measured and gives the customer an immediate date and time to be measured. A central office makes the labor estimate and then informs the specialist it's ready and to call customer in and add product. If this is a success this year then I can see Specialists going away. What is special about them now that the work is gone?

They will 100% for sure get rid of specialists and most all fulltime positions. This last move showed who they really are as a company. Getting rid of all the higher paid department managers was only the tip of the iceberg. The good days of Lowe's being a good company to work for and even making a living wage there are gone now. They want all the higher wage fulltime employees gone. They only hired the lowest wage people possible for the new service manger jobs. They don't want the specialists making more than the new service managers. Don't be foolish, get a game plan now and start looking for another job. Look how quick they got rid of department managers with no warning. Also, why are they going to need the remaining ASMS once the service manager program is in place? Get a game plan and don't wait.

Once Lowe's took the Department Manager position away any full time titled position is probably going away with the exception of Kitchen Cabinets.
