Rumor in BR from the heads is to offer max. $100k lump and $2200/completed year to senior wireline employees. Specifically targeting craft and technical. Then moving forward will be very mobile "contractor style" "take it or leave it" workforce.
IPTV projects were on the back burner but now there is some chatter about funding those.
A super EISP would be interesting. Had the company done that prior to the last strike they would had a load of people off the books prior to the strike. Offering 4 to 6 years of pay to get the bulk of the remaining protected employee off the books before the next strike would be fairly brilliant.
Your wireline eisp is on the way. C class wants rid of those protected by the Bell/GTE layoff language by mid year. All business wireline will be moved to VOIP and handled by VZB / fMCI after its moved off of legacy / BAU. Thats a huge priority for 2017. TV in general on FiOS is a burden but costs will continue to rise to create more profit. Resedential wireline is a thorn in their side but no concrete plan has been made to deal with it. Letting it slowly drown is the current course. Tmobile is crushing wireless, cuts will continue as that is the advice from the financial wizards on the wireless side.
When is the SUPER EISP coming for wireline??
The honesty on here is refreshing.
If divorce and missing out on your family ia worth the $$$ more power to you. Never was for me.
To make 100,000$ youre talking 60+ hours every week.
"It can be a great opportunity to make money, but it comes with a sacrifice. Just wanted to clarify that". YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH!!!!!! After a heart attack and mental break down I have decided my health is more important. There is great money to be made on landline but the cost is high. The trick is finding that middle ground. I have since left Verizon and life is great, I started my own lawn care company and my health and family life could not be any better.
I am union top craft for many years and never quite made 100k even in my best year. You can do it, I am sure, but you will be working serious hours of overtime and not seeing much of your family. It can be a great opportunity to make money, but it comes with a sacrifice. Just wanted to clarify that.
Wow 100k ... I wish as a wireless retail inventory Rep I made that.
It's a shame how they treated us wireless employees.
The most I made was 60k and I busted my a$$ that year working 80 hour weeks, 3 different stores in one week etc...
All for what .(to be fired on my work anniversary) I even applied to over 50 internal positions (with 2 IT degrees ) and got 0 interviews .
All for what to get yelled at every day about hum when I'm not even a sales rep ...
F! Wireless and how they treated us like $#!+
(Fired wireless emplee who wishes he had union protection)

They can't change their ways. Their operating costs are too high.
They have to reduce their overhead to compete.
But leadership will never admit this.
Vz wireless is over rated and over priced and so are all their products and everybody sees it,except the people on top, they are going to run this company into the ground and wall st Already took notice ,vz is going to drown if they dont change their way...

In four years most of the union membership will be gone, its a WIRELESS company now

MTA (starting 32 hour for customer service)

@icl Big words coming from a VZ bootlick keyboard warrior. Not only do I make probably twice what you do, but my harley is paid off and I can roll now. But I have a brain and am going to wait for the right moment. Now get back under that desk and keep s---ing!!
What do you need an EISP for? Just quit you union brats. Don't have enough money saved up to make the payments on your Harley motorcycle?
Whos problem is that?
Offer 4 years of pay and I would expect that tons of people 60+ would leave.
