Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

So how's the new Focal process?

So I think I already know the answer, that it's been "delayed" and those left will have to deal with the old Focal process (including any new wrinkles handed down post-Focal to identify the next wave of ISP, VSP candidates and prod more of the 50+ employees to take ERP).

I hear (again) that FLM/MTP is being dusted off (because managers are the problem) sometime in 2017........which probably means most won't get the training until 2018.......leading to another year of an outdated performance review process?

My guess is a new focal process will not necessarily be geared towards a better performance management and getting the best from employees, but one focused on laying of a fixed percentage of employees every in a legally iron clad manner. Given the randomness with which ACT 1.0 had to be contrived, all focal energy and manager training will be directed to "streamlining" future ACTs.

The new process didn't get ready on time, because it's sooooooooooooooooo fricking difficult to define that kind of process.

Apparently, HR didn't have much time to work on the process. You have to wonder though what those HR people are doing all day. They are not involved in performance reviews. They are not involved in Focal. They don't review any of the results from those. Recruiting and hiring is done by externals. And still HR doesn't have the time to create a new Focal process. Perhaps someone should restrict their web browsing privileges or deinstall CS:GO from their work PCs.
