Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

@LNC10hE-zxi. Though mobile growth is slowing the market is huge and towers over everything including PCs. All Intel new initiatives are drops in the bucket compared to mobile.

Intel spend billions over three process generations and failed at everything they tried. The only reason they even got the modem business was buying it.

Intel can't do anything against real competition and win, not even x86. They were lucky AMDrealky screwed itself, sadly for Intel all the competitors are executing and better positioned than AMD.

The mistake was to acquire Infineon in the first place, their wireless division didn't go almost bankrupt without good reasons.

Mobile has been dead for two years. I would expect Intel to be fully divested by now. So a 55% reduction from say 25 people left in mobile is not out of the norm. Maybe just have a skeleton crew for customer legacy support until the stake is finally driven through all things mobile.

I remember all the managers who said that We must win in the Mobile space, and I have my badge on the line if we do not succeed. Well, they are long since gone, billions of dollars later we just have more crap in the landfills of useless atom processors, outdated, in-efficient, junk. People, take a note. If Intel could not win in the Mobile space.....what has changed to ensure success in IOT, Automotive, VR? Tell me
