The only benefit of holding Cisco stock is dividends. They may increase dividend in Q2FY17 and Cisco is banking high on Trump's corporate tax cuts for the repatriation. Cisco will divert that money for the stock buy backs to artificially keep the stock price up. Other than that I would offload the Cisco stock in jiffy..

+1

@LOCs18G-mmx Just because you "do it all the time" doesn't make it right, but it makes you a smart-a--. If you're an employee, and you check out the employment documents you signed, you'll see it's not allowed.

I wouldn't call him a smart-a--. More like a dumb-a--. Insider trading, either by you or by people you've shared inside details with is illegal, at least in the US.

t will go the same way as always.... stock will rise until lunchtime on the 15th, then some insider leaks will get to the markets and the stock will start falling. Then the call will start after trading and the next day it will continue falling.

I've noticed that same trend. Now that I'm not an employee I can take advantage of it. Sell high, re-buy low. But I'm not sure it will bounce back, so buying low may end up being a "buying high, selling low" proposition. When the stock prices start falling, and don't flatten out, I'll dump my ESPP shares while they're still a gain. But for now, I'm enjoying the dividends.

It will go the same way as always.... stock will rise until lunchtime on the 15th, then some insider leaks will get to the markets and the stock will start falling. Then the call will start after trading and the next day it will continue falling. There is a theory going around that if the stock drops below $30, markets will become bearish of CSCO. There's not enough wiggle room for me to take the risk.

I'm selling all mine on the morning of the 15th.

What I've notice from speak to several analyst friends who have all got Cisco as a buy, is the little insight they have of what's really going on in Cisco. For example they all believe Cisco is moving to a software model, whereas we all know ACI is being given away in deals in the hope someone will actually deploy it and Cisco One is being discounted to a point where the customer see's no difference in the cost, so therefore isn't actually buying into the SW model at all. There is only so long Cisco can spin the numbers before someone works out it's all smoke and mirrors.

My advice is get out with whatever profit you have and put it into something you believe in.

@LOCs18G-xzn I know nothing - but if I did, you'd be right and we'd all go to jail.

Is the poster or those responding looking for an insider trading charge? Are you really that stupid?

The stock will tank after the earnings call like it always does. Maybe some LR will be announced to mitigate the crap, maybe but

Either way the company is not healthy. Low employee morale, non existent strategy and competitive cloud market spells doom.

Goodbye Cisco, you were great once...

If ,you are an employee, you aren't permitted to trade in options.
