Basking Ridge HQ Finance employees still need to be reduced Lowell. Too much of the same stuff being created by too many employees. You don't need all those spreadsheets.

Wireless is a commodity. Face it. Unlimited everything on Sprint is $23 a line. TMobile's Legere has a hard on for VZ and is not letting up.
Lowell IS NOT a smart business man. He's a bully here and works for Wall Street. He can never ever stand behind wireline. Fiber or not. He will never back it. He promised Wall Street he would shut it off and shut down the unions.
He was and is willing to throw millions and billions at anything else. People, companies, whatever.
Look at the money VZ earned and look at whats left in the bank. Where did it all go?
Wasted on a hundred or so failed pet projects.

Agreed, not rolling out mass FiOS was the death sentence. Yes your payback period was measured in years but in the information age the superior internet would have won out. Data usage will only go up Comcast not a few years ago said users of more than 250gb of data per month was excessive now it's 1Tb
This is what is prevalent throughout VZW. The 4Q2015 layoffs included people with performances issues who weren't coached and people these senior leaders didn't like. It had nothing to do with performance. So who remains are the people who don't know the business and just fake knowing with spreadsheets and power points.
Verizon has no strategy or leaders who can lead with confidence. Since they can not increase revenue, they will continue to cut expense via layoffs to appear profitable.
Face it... being just a wireless provider won't cut it. Verizon should have capitalized on Fios deployment so they could really be a residential and commercial provider of bundled telecom services. Since they have no real cloud or content strategy, Verizon is just like a rickety boat in rough seas....
