Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Why is it so hard for them to see what we see in the store?

I do not understand why they cannot figure out why traffic is slowed down in the stores.

We have had the exact same Three day, One day sale for the last 10 years with the same product and pricing! Customers know it will be on sale next week without it being a special and they can get an additional use your card or wow pass.

Stop trumping your own stores with cheaper.com pricing and stop making the store take the hit for online returns !

If you are not a 30 million dollar store you do not have the correct product mix in your store. As a sales manager you are shut down by the district and Regional team when you request or suggest products for your location.

men's department we have a product mix that doesn't stand for anything. Not enough depth and any one brand to really satisfy any customer. Dated styles including that forced Trend INC.

Get over that everyone wants to shop by brand and put all of the denim in one location please. Which means the buyers would have to purchase good denim first of all.

How did we end up with one Urban brand... Sean John

FYI We are fairly large people in the United States why do we not carry larger men's sizes and big and tall especially in the Midwest. Most stores have none and those that do have very little

How many John Ashford, club room, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Nautica polo shirts, dad jeans and khakis does one need to offer

Stop moving the floor every quarter for no reason, other than to set the "must haves" that no on really wants.

marchesa Bridal injury and I have yet to see one commercial stating that fact

American Rag in young men's is supposed to be inspired by the designers rides on the New York subway I think not. And they are pulling the only compelling brand in young men's Denim and Supply in a lot of stores???? So they are left with American Rag and graphic tees???

I could go on.

Our store doesn’t take back .com jewelry returns of that amount for an immediate refund. We tell the customer we will be happy to return the item for them through the proper channels and their credit will be processed once the merchandise is received at that location.

Seems very unfair to count online returns against your instore goals. You have zero control over that. You weren't the original salesperson nor was any other instore associate.

I've noticed a lot of stock being out in cosmetics but I thought I had bad luck.

Brick and mortar is fine? And I can go 3 days without seeing a real guest? In a flagship store? Right. This company is screwed. We've trained our shopper to buy online and that's what they're doing.

It's going south folks. Jump before we drown.

It'saturday and I'm 5,000 over plan.

Sunday. ..I'm I'm down 2,000 because I had a 7,000 diamond ring .com return. it didn't look like the picture. No sh--. That's why you should not buy a $7,000 Diamond online. is not easy to turn that return into a sell when the customer feels that they have been duped into spending $7,000

In comment to the previous post we should get rid of Juniors completely and simply add freestyle to rtw with the brands that were mentioned above. Our customers do not shop that way anymore a mother may very well buy a BCBG top to go along with her INC. As the younger shopper may want BCBG and pair it with Rachel Roy. H&R is imply freestyle standards with seasonal trend. People say that Macys cannot turn fast Trend but we can if you're not trying to focus on the entire "Junior dept"

I was reading your post and nodding along with all points stated.

Also lets not give smaller stores Impulse RTW when your customer base has changed to a younger demographic in the mall and they are there to buy it. They dont want Material Girl, American Rag or BCBX! Stop sending it in just to mark it down to $4.93 last act, that is still sitting on stuffed rounders not even selling at that price because HELLO nobody wants it!

Send in Denim and Supply, Lucky, Guess, Miss Me Denim and I could go on! Things people are asking everyday for but because your not a Top 150 or 30 million dollar store your not getting it.

Dont get me started on Cosmetics too. Lets give bloated Pre-Sale goals for GWP but not supply counters with PRODUCT. Then the constant emails of not making your goals and what are you going to do different? Are you f---ing kidding me? What AM I GOING TO DO DIFFERENT?? What are YOU going to do different, I have people walking away from counters because I have nothing not even basic skin care lines.

The whole thing is a JOKE. Stop making the stores pay for your online returns. Code it back to ONLINE, the technology is there Nordstroms and JCP does it. The difference is we do not want to do it, because we have to show at least .com is booming when brick and mortar is dying. The true fact is brick and mortar is FINE and actually EXCELLING plans and LY goals if you take out the .com returns piece.

I could go on all day about this as well, its sicekning.
