The quality level of the merchandise has gone in the crapper. There are more and more Made in China material then ever before. The Flooring has a lot made in China. Especially the new stuff. The wood look tile is chipping and claims being made on them. It's a very sad day Lowe's has become so cheap. Wonder how many of these changes would happen if not for stock market price.

I feel sorry for folks who were let go today. I worked for Lowes until mid last year and I'll always be grateful to them for hiring me during the 2009 recession. I also understand layoffs are part of corporate life. It will feel like a punch in the groin. All you can do is s--- it up and start job hunting.

There are some brutal truths about the company. One, corporate has no clue what the store does and vice versa. Two the upper management is a bunch of morons who have no idea where to dedicate resources. They spend zillions of $ on stupid projects like mylowes and on commercials trying to look cute. Three, merchandising is so backward and we don't have any product variety in the stores. We can stock up on good ones, when they sell out. Four, that overpaid CEO needs to go. The board needs to understand the quarters of profit are just because of market conditions and not because this dic---ad is some management genius. I remember a time when Lowes stock was at 20ish and HD was at 30ish. Now they are almost kissing 150 and we are at 75.

From the beginning when they eliminated dept. managers , I believe they have targeted the more tenured folks. It definitely was the case in the store I work at. The little bit they saved from our 3 or 4 week vacations, and our $18 to $ 25 an hour pay will come back and bite them in the azz this spring when "their" customers come in and deal with seasonal part timers who have very little job knowledge or skills. The ex dept. managers here are still giving their best but you can start to read it in their faces that they are slowly realizing this is not the company they started working for. One persons bonus could have saved a lot of jobs!

Low isn't reporting until next week 3/1.. I am willing to bet its all these restructuring costs they are figuring into it. I bet they finished the fiscal year and looked at the numbers and said sh-- we have to lose more. They need to show something positive so the stock doesn't crash. The select few make millions while the rest struggle. HD's great earnings will make Lowes seem so much worse now. We can't hold a candle to them.

HD reported kick a-- earnings today. Lowe's reports tomorrow. Fitting their stock sticker is LOW. Low stock price, low morale, low future. It once was a good company to work for. Niblock is Ahab chasing his White Whale (HD). We all know how that ended.

The day Larry Stone retired is the day Lowe's began walking away from the values that made them a great company. Leadership brought in from GE is going to six sigma the company into obscurity.

Please Note - Lowes firing only U.S Citizen. All H1Bs are so safe. Terrible!

Been covering 2 positions since hiring freeze. Long hours extra work no extra pay s---ed it up to get job done.

Great way to over work loyal employees who used to care and treat them like sh-- after 14 years of service.

F__ lowes. Greed is a sickness

This is not good karma and sad way to treat loyal hard working people

I worked in store, replenishment fullfillment, distribution and demand planning and logistics 14 years of my life.

Walked out this am.

I loved the people i worked with like family. I was called into 10 minute meeting and told i dont fit new model.

Millions to racing

Millions to top salaries

And i put in 15 years and they could not afford 50k year salary.

403 all ready let go. Could be as many as 600 at corporate. Getting rid of all the senior associates.

There is a news report floating around the web about this very thing. We were speculating whether it was going to be the rest of the CSA 5s deciding they were going to cut us, or was going to be corporate. Guess its corporates turn.

Lowes does not value analytics...lots of strong analytical talent leaving if other companies need talent. The ones left will probably be looking as well.
