Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Ex Department Managers Getting Interviews and positions??

I am hearing a lot of the ex department managers not even getting a shot at another position. Like we are poison water and they all don't want us to be with Lowe's after the year. I am that wonderful CSA 5 and I am not really trying yet. If you look at the top 2000 employees. There are 30 Service Managers and over 120 CSA 5's. If that isn't a salary hunt I don't know what is. Don't know how they get away with this..

Lowes should be disbanded and all corporate employees should be fired. The day I was demoted I was just given a kick in the a-- and told to get over it. the Corporate employees got grief counselors and job placement assistance. I hate this company with all my heart

Face it, if we were demoted to CSA 5, we will never have an opportunity to stay with this company. We were black balled as soon as we lost our title. Lowe's doesn't care about tenure or experience. It's the $ that talks the loudest. My 20+ yrs got flushed down the toilet. They want to know why moral has gone to hell, they need to get their heads out of their asses so they can hear us.

If you're smart ride out your 12 months which will piss them off even more. They are going to purposely hold out on specialist positions & offer positions to 5's that take them back 8-14 years pay and expect them just to accept, or what they really want you to do is quit so they don't have to pay unemployment. Ride the train out, after the 12 months collect unemployment for as long as you can. I feel really bad for these people that are in these tough spots. Some needed to go, but others were just merely targets because of the amount of pay they are making & amount of years invested with the company. What this all boils down to isn't about satisfying the consumer/customer with more face to face time...... oh no. Check out the hours to forecast report and you'll notice no one is being replaced... no more help is coming not in stores just in their call centers which is anything but face to face. My suggestion is look around and let this be an opportunity for you to redevelop your skills for a more promising future, something better than Lowe's.

Spoke to a HR today and he mentioned that for retail payroll avg is somewhere around 17% and well Lowe's is near 21-22%. Now if that is true no wonder they did this. Just don't want any salary..

I believe if you have more than 5 years in, the majority will not get position for one silly reason or another. No positions have been filled at our store and there are a few specialist and pro positions open. Most CSA5 folks are to much $ for the "lowes of the future", and will not fit the company needs (Which is cheap labor) . I feel bad for the asm' s who are still in stores knowing the future has been written in the blood of ex dept. managers. And after what has happened at Corp. today, we all have a bleak future with lowes. Hey, we saw it coming with the Chicago market, we just couldn't admit to ourselves it would happen to us. Hope that everyone that has missed family celebrations , children's sports games, weekends, social events due to working for lowes finds a better job.

I have posted for 3 jobs so far all of which i have over 8 years experience in and not 1 interview just a generic no longer under consideration on the job posting site. Not even a call or email. Only one so far in my store has been offered a position at over 4 bucks less than they make now and they turned it down.

I'm taking this year to find another job, but a lot of other csa 5's in my store have had issues. Some have just gone back to a permanent spot while I hear others are getting turned down for even an interview left and right.
