Just told by management we are being monitored on our computers for this site.

You just never know. Use this site using cell data.

It's possible, but unlikely they would go that far. That requires a lot of dedicated man hours just to check your personal browsing history, I just don't see it happening.

How about this? Since you are wired to the Humana computer through your internet, it is possible to grab your IP address and cross reference it to personal devices in your home with that same internet provider, even if connecting to the home router wirelessly. Then they can know who posts on this site.

Humana monitors your work computer for several reasons. First, yes, they need to know that you are actually working when you are supposed to be working. Readers here-either still working or already laid off-may be honest and hard working, but there are many instances where associates are not actually working when they should be. Second, everything you do is being recorded at all times. If you have Aruba your screens are recorded as well. This is because you have contact with members. You have access to incredibly sensitive health information as well as other information such as social security numbers and Medicare and Medicaid numbers. It is a Federal Law that Humana take every possible measure to ensure member information is not breeched. If this were to occur, it would be a HIPAA breech and potential fines into the millions for the company. Being in IT, I can tell you that if you work anywhere in healthcare, whatever computer you use is being monitored. You are aware of it more because you are at home and the risk for patient confidentiality breeches increases because no one directly observes you, hence, the need for software installation on your computers to monitor your actions. The previous post that said the associate has their personal laptop beside the Humana one is smart and recommended (it was actually told to us in orientation many years ago to use a personal computer for all searches online). If you need to do any searching online such as looking up a medication on drugs.com, or attempting to locate a member's doctor on Google, this must be done on your personal computer, even if it is related to your job. This is because even though you may be acting on the best behalf of your members, if you accidently go to a site that may cause a breech in the system, no matter how encrypted we are, it can be possible to introduce a virus into the system and capture our sensitive data. Humana is only trying to protect members and we want them to do this. Would you want to do business with a company that didn't take measures to protect your personal information? Yes, screens are being recorded, and yes, there have been instances where people Google search and shop online while at work. While this may be a very small proportion of the workforce, it is being done, and the rest of the staff is paying the price.

Are you serious using the work computer for other things other than information to give your members? I have my own computer on my desk, my Humana desktop and the lap top given by Humana on my desk. I google things on my private computer not the Humana computer. It's all about common sense. Maybe that's why Humana is doing this mass layoff.

Definitely wouldn't be using work computer to post here, don't think something like that would be too smart. I do yell at the computer, when it spins and won't load, There are times I have lost it so much that I couldn't catch my breath from crying so hard. So now I have to worry that any time in my home, 24 hours a day someone is listening to me. I understand when I work but what the heck is this about? So when I'm on break eating lunch or on break in my office and talking to someone on my personal phone they will record us? If they aren't paying me for break time, they shouldn't be recording me at lunch. Now I'm paranoid they are recording after hours. No wonder people are in the hospital sick right now.

It seems that Humana representatives and leaders are commenting on this already. If they are tracing your HOME laptop/computers to find out your personal identity, without you using company equipment, that is ILLEGAL. Although, a VPN might be helpful. This will not stop me from posting the truth about injustices currently happening.

If you are a care manager or sign in with auxiliary codes, then your computer is being recorded from the time you sign in to when you log off for the evening. All calls are recorded with members as well. They even have software that records your screens both during and after calls end.

Humana has a right to ensure that their equipment is being used for business purposes. To use it to log into the layoff.com and post things that are negative about the very company you are pulling a paycheck is unethical. So many folks posting here still work for the company, willingly. If you are questioning your ability to comply with company proceedings, simply find a new job.

Wow that is scary I would have thought they would have to tell us they are monitoring us at all times. But on this website I am using my personal computer not on work time. Would NEVER use a work computer for anything other!

The question is why would you spy on your employees, while they are in their homes without asking? To say the least this is unethical and immoral.

Microphone muted and camera lens covered is a no brainer. Not sure what sort of violation talking to an office mate while working is, even if in this case, it was a dog. If you are checking this website from a company computer while on the clock than that was not a smart choice though.

But it is a violation to listen in when we have not been advised?

It is not a violation of rights if the equipment is Humana's.

How could they record her talking to her dog? Was her phone line left open? Or was she using a laptop?
