Without the traditional retirement program anymore, who would stay around and take the daily abuse? That's about the only thing keeping around the older people still left. That, and having out-of-date skills for the current job market, in which I'm currently trying to rectify myself.
Honeywell's stock is about maxed out. DC & Co. have squeezed the neck of all oxygen flow for too long. Few, if any new products in any product sector. Many were just old & delayed for various reasons. F-ed Over Rebuilt Dodge. So all that's left is the bones and they want to turn into a vapor (software holding company). The real estate will be eventually sold off. With little to prop up the stock anymore, the days of any long term growth of Honeywell stock as a long-term retirement vehicle are about over. DC & the mob are laughing all the way to the bank.
My advise for the youngers is to avoid/get out of the Aerospace industry, and Honeywell, GE and all the other clones. Get any experience you can and move on before you stay too long. Look at the horizon & update your skills every couple of years.
