Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Why is Sears announcing "earnings" so abruptly?

There's no trace of a scheduled earnings announcement except for an Investopedia article. There's not even an announcement on their own site!

That will surely piss off the stockholders they do have. Are they trying to hide from the media? Good luck, word will still get around about the terrible Q4 results. Sears execs obviously don't know about how media works. They will get their information regardless.

I'm not too surprised that it falls on the same day that the big layoffs are supposed to happen. Usually layoffs and big changes take place on or very close to the day earnings are announced.

Investorplace went off of back history and a bot declared that earnings were today. Not true.

The first place you will see it is an announcement prior to the event on the Sears investor page. No actual date is announced, but they typically always announce on a Thursday, so agree with the earlier post it will be on the 2nd.

I think the release is pretty much simultaneous on the website and on the SEC site.

March 2 makes more sense because that's when they've having that town meeting or whatever it's called.

I've seen Sears post things around 6am ET. Guess we'll know in about a half hour from now.
