today is probably just the first big wave of layoffs.
I've been here 2.5 years and i feel like it's drained the life out of me... even if I don't get let go I don't think I want to work for this company much... it's such a squalid hellhole and they don't treat anyone well.
sorry businessinsider person. your company is owned by jeff bezos of amazon. nice try trying to get people to be angry at sears for his profit.

Are you disillusion? This business needs to cut costs DRAMATICALLY and FAST in order to make it to July.
@hpeterson@businessinsider.com you really should just ask your questions here as I doubt anyone would feel comfortable contacting you. You would get just as much information and quicker responses asking us directly on these boards (if you read the threads your answers probably exist already)

And no I am not a corporate parrot. I too was let go a while back for the mythical needs of the business.

Thanks to everyone for their posts, for some it is comforting gaining some control in this fluid situation to others it helps them prepare, having read these boards for a weeks I have prepared myself financially, legally as well as informed my partner what might be coming (helping them greatly) These updates from you have helped substantially, for those who don't post come off of the sidelines and contribute (do it from your phone not your work computer as they could track that) your contributions would go a long way in providing comfort, control and stability to your colleagues and their families lives
They gave me 10 weeks, they are not being kind in doing this they are just trying to prevent me from bringing legal action
@wel good luck and god bless. You will be fine just remember that, it'll be a shock but it will go and you will be stronger for this experience.
If let go can you guys post years worked and severance offered? I'm curious if it's a blanket package.
I just got let go, have worked so hard here for over 5 years. This is the most vile, disgusting company I have ever come across. I'm glad I'm out of this sick sinking mess!!!!!
Funny they can find boxes to send people packing but not to ship stuff they sell to people.
