OMG! Never, ever provide any feedback in oracle Hr surveys - nothing good has ever come out of that, ever! All they ever do is use the info to justify yet another way to screw you!

Meant "break", obviously. But my spellchecker meant differently.

Careful with names, this site doesn't allow it. Check the content rules in the page footer. They can block your IP and nuke your posts if you brake the rules. Just sayin'

If I remember well, RS decided to put this in place beginning of 2014 for the support organization.

It followed an employee survey coming from the inHuman Resources at oracle where people were complaining about bad communication between support teams.

It resulted in this crap.

I also remember that very few romanian employees followed that rule (even the juniors) and were never annoyed.

Conclusion: never answer any oracle inHuman Resources survey. They don't care anyway. They are just asked to do it.

This is what you get in a company that doesn't have a single CEO and clear direction - boatloads of incompetent S/VPs driving the ship in different directions - total mess

Simply and effort to get rid of people without having to pay them severance

Hi @LbKF0pZ-7cbp

I work at Oracle. From what I know, this new "no more work from home" rule applies to technical support.

Any further news on the WFH rule? Did anyone hear from their managers?

I'm very interested to know if this is true.

Please post any confirmations here.

Perfect example of such a tactic to reduce HC organically:

I definitely think its another way to get rid of people. It's a very sneaky but obvious tactic used. Another one is oh we moved our job to across the country. If you want it move there and btw we aren't providing move expenses. This way they post your job, if they decide to keep it. The posting of course will be geared toward a new college grad with a new pay scale. It's an age old tactic.

Negotiate if you wish to stay. Everything in life is negotiable, he'll tell them you will take stock options to stay if you have to commute.

So, is this definite in any way? Across the board? Where'd the news come from?

WFH is the one Oracle perk that I'm hanging on for. If they take it away for everyone, then it's time to move on, for me...

Is this somehow related to the looming RIF? Seems OT to me...

Oh, I'm so sorry, I can't work anymore on week ends. I need to rest from all the travel time throughout the week.

@LbKF0pZ-1arj

It's not about being productive or saving money on facilities or power. It's about making people quit their job on their own, so they don't have to pay severance. Working from home was one of the very few employee perks at Oracle.

Now that you're in the office every single day, middle-management can double the number of weekly meetings.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Tax ride off if they can include the cost of office space. They are just corralling everyone to see what they need to get rid of next. It's par for the course.

So it cost about 14K to rent a f---ing office at Oracle through facilities. So lets have our employee's that have jobs come in and be on campus. Don't work from home, using your own internet, space and power! You will be more productive.. F--- YOU!

Did you discuss with your management? These type of unilateral moves are usually negotiable so tell your management what you're willing to accommodate.

How does that effect remote workers who have no office or campus to drive to? This is the case for some folks in CA and other states also.
