Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Bitter irony

I found out yesterday that I was losing my job. I am a lead manager and have been with the company for 17 yrs. when I got home I got an email that said congrats we gave you some additional points to shop your way. It's almost near evil the way Eddie is allowed to steal all the billions and real estate and leave hundreds of thousands of people practically homeless

When I bailed, the company I hired on with was interest in one thing. My customer service skills I had from working at Sears.

Use that to your advantage. With 17 years under your belt, I have to believe that is something that belongs on your resume.

Best of Luck !

I'm so sorry to hear about your job loss. It hurts now but things will get better. Take your loyalty and hard work and put it to use for a company that will appreciate you.

The first thing I did was cut up my Sears charge, the one I needed so I could use my employee discount.

Oh, and good luck in your next career. I got out three years ago when they closed my store and now I make more money, and have less stress and more time for the family. What was I thinking working for Sears for 10 years

Eddie is losing nothing. He made his money back years ago. Everything now is just gravy. He gets the real estate in the REIT (Seritage), he make interest on the money he loans the company, and as a debt holder, which is backed by inventory and more real estate, he has first rights to get paid in bankruptcy.

Business my friend, business.

Good luck. Be positive and don't let Sears eat away at you now that you're free. You will do well if you allow yourself to.

That's right. There is a good life after sears or kmart. They don't deserve the 17 years you gave them. Once you have worked for.kmart or sears, you can only go up. You have been a part of the bottom for a good while.
