Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hey ALT -- Tone deaf AND lack of communication

So you are executing a huge RIF and call a town hall and all you talk about is your leadership reorganization? Do you not realize how many of the VRIFs were talented fonts of organizational knowledge?

There's been no communication about the RIFs except through this forum since the last time you announced. You ruined Hannukah and Christmas because of the anxiety you foisted upon us.

Everyone has a tally board as to who has left. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the directors announce to their COEs? Even if it is just a new org chart.

There has been 0 communication about how we are supposed to track and request vacation, at least in my COE.

Mr. Mahoney, I've done my part. I emailed you and never even got a forward to a minion.

This is just the result of what was said in the big RIF of 2005 when they boldly announced that they were not going to grow the Aerospace business in the U.S. They lived by this stupid premise ever since by milking the various aerospace businesses to death through continuous cost cutting and census reduction. They let valuable expertise in avionics design disappear and in the process, ignored the customers. I can only think their end game is to sell what is left of it off to the highest bidder.

You're right no acknowledgement of years of service. I remember a paper came out every quarter saying who had an anniversary, who left and they had a send off where you brought in your wife in and had a cake with everyone invited, God forbid we recognize someone that commited more than half their life to a company and in the hay day worked 800 hours overtime every year.

Oh well, that's why we're all leaving

And on top of it, I've seen absolutely no acknowledgement of the service th VRIFs put in. Give them 30+ years and under normal conditions there may be some statement about your years of service. But if you volunteer it makes your whole career a non-event. Management can't or won't even mention to a team that the person is gone. You just see an empty desk or find out from rumor mill

It no longer matters , new business. The engine division for years has been called the little engine manufacturer by our own leaders in Phx.

We'll be reduced to nothing then sold to the highest bidder to get the few engines we are producing successfully and that will be that. We bought out Lycoming to get a couple of engines and the tank engine and the LTS101 ended up masking them money. Same thing except show us on the other foot and we're the one up for sale.

He is actually right, working at Honeywell is not rewarding, it is not like working in other Aerospace companies, it is no more than an Enron always looking at dollars and not technology. bob Smith denied new bsuiness for years because it went ove rhis engineerign census cap. He had countless opportuntities to win more busniess if he would only commmit to hiring engineers to suppor tthe workload. He refused and thus we lost work.

now Carl Espsito is dong the same thing.....

They will learn the lesson fast now that they are responsible for the businees growth.....could not have happened to two nicer guys

Yeah, but if you don't like it go work at a baby clothes startup and then tell me how much more fulfilling working in aerospace is.
