I agree. AS is an overpriced one-trick-pony. Don't drink the koolaid others inside AS do with regards to its "greatness". Step back and look hard. Not a rosy picture.

AS providing support? No way. AS is not built for this. They are built on charging a fortune to make 1/2 baked sh!tty solutions built on Cisco hw & sw function as architected and hobbled together. They aren't in the business of churning router and Jabber cases at low margin.

I don't think BU will see much or any impact. Cisco's Sales and Services organizations need trimming for a while now. So far Cisco has massively realigned, LR'd the Engineering resources. Now it's Sales, AS, and TAC's turn. I think TAC will be history soon. AS will directly provide Services and Support.
SBG is cleaning house but better future than most BUs.

I've heard it's mostly going to be overlay sales people, as Cisco has inherited a lot of B Class sales people from acquisitions who would have never got in alone and don't come anywhere near delivering the playbook minimum for a sales head. The generalist security PSS's will remain, but the others will get shown the door.
