Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I'm a department manager who has only been with Lowe's for a little over a year.

I'm highly driven, both with goals and tasks but I'm totally worried about seniority. I consider myself a business woman and over the past year I've learned that there is a lot of money to be saved at Lowes and I understand the reason behind it.

Being driven and motivated, I look around at my peers and even ASMs that are only there for their shift and show really no real vested interest. I get it. I guess we just have to wait and see. If they get it right, and put the right people in position it could be extremely prosperous but accountability has to change too.

There really isn't any, which is another reason why this IS happening and NEEDS to happen. Anyway, I'd love to hear your comments both good and bad. I wish everyone involved in the upcoming changes "Good Luck"! The waiting isn't good for any of us!

Lowes says we are family. Family doesn't screw one another. Bottom line is greed,they want their bonus. Is the rehire ingredients going to be fair or is the managers going to pick their favorites. Should go by knowledge not by who's a-- you kiss. I've worked my way up like most DM. Ten years and I get kicked in the a--. We will see how well it goes without us.

Its pure greed.Our store manager gets a 25k bonus this year..that info came right out of his mouth..the common worker might get a $130.00 bonus if they are lucky.. I hate all the time i wasted at this sorry excuse for a company....

They made managers sign non- disclosure agreements and it still leaked out. We all have a right to know now! don't drag this out any longer.

Well I think they (corporate) should have just acted on what they were going to do not throw information partially out there and then have everybody wait guessing on what really is going to happen. I'm a 20-year veteran with the company and find this totally absurd. Had made this job my life to probably lose it so someone at corporate can get a larger bonus. Shame on Lowe's everyone should sell their stock that works for the company and move on.
