I work in SPARC hardware development in Burlington, MA and we were told we cannot take vacation next week or work from home. So I anticipate layoffs will come Tuesday or Wednesday. Doesn't matter much to me since I'm flying to California to go on an interview Thursday and Friday.

I work in Santa Clara and I can confirm that layoffs will happen during the next two weeks. The news is already in the open.
SPARC will be hit hard with only M line remaining and Solaris will be scrapped. Other teams are fighting for survival (trying to reinvent themselves) but big cuts expected in all HW related areas.
