Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

What s---s is letting your staff find out on the news, being worried because no one will tell them what's going on, the store manager taking an unscheduled day off the day after it leaks, and when the HR manager finally comes out of their office after being shut in all day with the blinds closed on conference calls is telling everyone, and I quote, "what? I've never heard that, there's nothing like that going on. " Some "family".

F**k Blowes in general. They piss on low level employees all day then have the nerve to cut hours. No sympathy for upper level managers.

Managers aren't supposed to work as hard ...they are supposed to leadand direct their team ... Why is it people think "oh she's a manager she should be working harder than her employees "? Go look at any other business ...mgrs run the business not work harder than employees they hire to do said work while the employee watches smh learn what management is please

I still feel like we need to clean house @ the top of the corporate level, of course I've always felt as though our CEO has no idea what he's doing, and some of the executives under him I feel the same way.

I really hate seeing posts that state the DMs don't do anything. I am a 17 year veteran of Lowe's and I work harder than my Staff of specialists. Many of our DMs are the hardest working employees in the store. If your store has managers that don't do anything, then they hired the wrong people in the first place.

I think the Worse part is the Waiting. I have been with Lowes over 8 years now and this is the Cruelest thing I have seen them do! We all know it's happening but to make the DM's wait until the end of the month is Cruel!! It's like putting a knife in their stomachs and giving it a quarter turn Everyday not knowing if today is the day or not?

I think I'm going to have to start looking after this.

Not true exactly. Our store in Northeast Florida is only losing 2 ASMs...they are keeping the store manager and two ASMs. Tomorrow the DMs hear their fate. DMs don't earn their money, to be honest. I can do my DMs job without thinking, and he doesn't work as hard as the 6 people under him, so I'm sure he's gone or will be demoted.

The heartbeat of Lowe's is its PT staff...they cannot exist without them. That's sad too, but the reality of the "post" Great Recession America and the destruction of the Middle Class and the rise of the corporate pigs.
