Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowe's isn't going anywhere for a long long time

Just today I was walking through Lowe's and there were five DMs just standing at a desk talking.

Most of them just down stock things anyways.

I'd rather have 2 part-time employees for each one of them to do that and choose the best 5 to give raises to and run the store.

Also they come a dime dozen so they have no respect or power to their title. Home Depot and Costco use the exact same model and their stores both run better then ours.

It's going to s--- at first but we will all (us employees and customers) will be WAY better off in the end.

Lowe's isn't going anywhere for a long long time.

For those idiots who think that more part timers is the answer, don't complain when the turnover is high cause they're only getting 10 hrs a week. Or what motivates them work harder when there are no full time jobs to move up to.

Oh and of course all those part timers will come in knowing how to work all those screens that somehow after all this years haven't been integrated into one.

And if you are one of this people saying it's going to be better, you are probably an associate who has worked there for 10+ years who never wants to move up. Sorry you are more of the problem then dept mgrs.

You're right. The DMs I know are no more capable than the full-time and part-time folks that know their department, and in most cases, work harder. Some them are slackers who hate those who work harder than they do, and are desperate to keep their positions. So they constantly look for ways to make others look bad...if they put half as much energy into working harder they'd be decent.

i gave lowes 15 years of my life. the first 5 were great! good benefits, good people to work for, employees were appreciated. then i watched it go to hell in a hand basket. problems galore. firing store managers because of inventory losses, poor customer service, etc. then they got to big for their pants, buying other hardware store, buying an internet company when they still can not even do pick up laters correctly. the lazy employees dont get fired they get promoted. one of the department managers got walked out of the store for stealing 5 years later he is back as an assistant store manager. hows that for a slap in the face? getting rid of long term employees by cutting everyone in the store to part-time...i finally retired after my fifteenth year. its worse now than it was 2 years ago. they dont call code 3's, no one speaks to customers walking in the aisles, iam actually ashamed to wear my lowes jacket
