If you were there, you signed a non disclosure agreement. You have just divulged classified material and are subject to penalties prescribed by law. You can be prosecuted and sent to jail.

Lowes wants to become service merchandise and also employed college kids that don't know what they are doing I have been with Lowes for 17 yrs and I saw that coming, lowes already have taken way Install sales dept and delivery in some states I think we as Lowes employees and we have worked hard and have put our faith in this company for years should demand that Robert Nibilock comes to stores and spend one week taking of the customers and carry at least 3-4 phones from the department and see how does it feel been yelled and customer swearing at you without help and he just do greedy that he received 8 mil raise when his making this cuts Lowes will go out of business soon or later

This was discussed at the corporate level some years ago in meetings that I attended.

I'm just surprised it took this long to happen.

Lowes started copying Home Depot's business model around 2010.

This is just another step in that direction.

And I believe it's a step in the wrong direction.

Employees and customers alike will be the losers in the end.

@LjncdS4-gzr people are concerned and confusing communication from the top is not helping. people have families to feed and bills to pay. this is why you see us here.

my whole team was checking out this site yesterday - and they continue today

i guess, times when they were able to hide info from us are gone and workers at least can pool the info they have to at least make it a bit easier for themselves

How is it determined which ASM is terminated? Time in position?, Time in position at current location?

Thats what they did during the meeting, almost like an 8 page interview style thing. Each page was to rate each asm on different areas. They were rated by 1-7 on each question. Then they goto a website and imput the scores. Then it will tell them who they recommend for what positions from the website. If the new position that will be offered is declined then it will move down to the next person. Highest-rated goes to sales, next score goes service, then the last goes to support. In higher volume stores there will be 2 service rolls dor asms

I heard that the store manager and HR Mgr will know who they want for each Asm role before 1/17. Regardless of what your current status is. The remaining ASM's will be eligible to take a service DM Mgr role or the servence package . Then, the son and hr Mgr will post the remains slots and that's how many spots available for your DM's. Hints "asm's will go first followed by the DM conversations "

Lowes doesn't care about backstabbing, but they do care about their image and I doubt they will fire so many ppl all at once bc it would look really bad

This is insane and I don't believe that this is how it's going to work. If at the end of this you have 8 people per store that have a year to find another full time position do you realize the amount of backstabbing that would occur? Not to mention the resentment floating around the building. Bottom line if you don't make the cut your gone. Not in a year but the day your told you didn't get one of the Service manager positions

Sales Managers were always a completely different job than ASM. The ASM-Sales position will be more more ASM than Sales Manager. The Sales Manager position was also always openly advertised as a test. Laying off another current ASM in order to hire a Sales Manager into that position would not legally be a layoff. It would be the same as straight up firing an ASM for no reason and placing a HR Manager or FSA in that position. I feel for the test Sales Managers, but they had two full years to prove the program could be successful, and it was always made perfectly clear that it was a test position only.

I'm a former LPOSM and this was decided upon last year (I left in late spring 2016). The details in the OP are correct. Same exact staffing matrix from what I was told last year. I am surprised the HR move hasn't happened yet. No HR at store level, only an HR for every 2-3 stores working for the AHRM.

So...what if a DM was interested in an ASM position at another store and the other store manager knew and wanted this person.....could they chose that person over current ASM staff?
