When "The Outfit" runs a company, they run the company with the sole purpose of s---ing every dollar out of every corner they can get it out of. The purpose of those who run Honeywell is to ride the bull until the bull dies. Nothing else. They won't even hire a rodeo clown to help.

Then sell the leftover flesh & bones to Berkshire-Hathaway (THE corporate funeral home) for final rendering into Chinese-made slippers.

Or the word is out that they are aquiring Honeywell, and the pyramiding of G&A rates would Honeywell hardware cost in half.

The real news here is Honeywell is going to have drop their costs to LM.

Wanna guess where they will get it from?

Suppliers first. Employees second.

Lockheed is a great company to work for. Awesome benefits, good 401k, fair vacation policy, clear communications from leadership, every other Friday off. However you have to put in your time to move up. Not going to see a manager with out grey hair. Ft worth is a very low cost of living area and there's no state income tax. Go for it!

Lockheed-Martin is a soul-s---ing-jerk of a company to work for. However, given the current aerospace business environment, it might be a good time to give them the end of a career if you want to stay in the aircraft business. They'll be fixing the F-35 for 5 or more years at least. You'd better be ready to retire not long after that! Also beware of buying a house in Ft. Worth, TX. The housing cycles with LM hire/fire cycles.

It can't be a more bad future, than any future at Honeywell.

I have noticed a lot of technical jobs in Colorado lately, especially for missile companies like LM there.

I think I'd rather go to Colorado than Texas any day.

2016 HON filed paperwork with the SEC that said their layoff count was 3000. In 2016 LMT did about 3x that in layoffs

So the question is: would you rather be forced to go through 2 rounds of RIFs or go through 1 big one, then read they are hiring back 1800?

Don't get me wrong, the Honeywell leadsforshit team probably as incompetent as the jokers at yahoo/hp/bell/etc, but LMT isnt a paradise either
