Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowes started copying Home Depot's business model around 2010.

This was discussed at the corporate level some years ago in meetings that I attended.

I'm just surprised it took this long to happen.

Lowes started copying Home Depot's business model around 2010.

This is just another step in that direction.

And I believe it's a step in the wrong direction.

Employees and customers alike will be the losers in the end.

Not anything like Home Depot. I moved the THD about 5 months ago from Lowe's (5 years there).

The reason I left is there was continually less people on the floor being asked to do more and more with less labor available. I went to a Home Depot that was hiring for spring in...get this September to have everyone trained up for spring. All their product is on autoreplenishment and their online orders are 3x what the Lowe's store was. And the Lowe's I worked in is a bigger store with almost double the sales. I am a part timer and THD has less full time help but it is less stressful for me to go to work now.
