Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

GREED!!

To those who believing this is a positive turnaround for Lowes thinking they are letting go of the weak and lazy are unbelievably mistaken. My husband has been with the company for over 12 years, as assistant store manager for 3 of them. He has never taken a sick day and barely ever uses a vacation day. He loves that company and works ridiculous hours, but never complained once. He works hard and never has a moment of laziness. It's not in his nature. He's a hard worker and shows it 100%. He was hand picked and hired for an ASM position leaving another lowes with hopes of one day working hard enough to reach his dream of becoming a store manager. We changed our life so he could make his daily hour commute there and back.. and yet he still never complained. Instead he spoke highly of lowes and the people he worked with. He along with many people at his store who have dedicated their life to Lowes for years will be let go. The people they are bringing in will be part timers who will have no knowledge or the drive to work hard. This will then put a strain on the remaining ASM's and Dept managers .. Customer service will be overwhelming and problems will not be dealt with as they should be. This is all because of greed from the higher end. They care nothing about their "work family" and only how deep their pockets are able to go.

To the person who responded that " If your husband works so hard he won't be let go".

You must have never worked at Lowe's.

We are in the same boat my husband has been with the company 9 years an ASM for 8 of them, he recently was transferred to help with his commute time but took a zone 1 position over his admin position. He has a packet coming UPS, he was told from his old store manager had he stayed put he'd still have a job but now there's nothing anyone can do. The sales manager and ops manager In his current store have been friends with the SM for the last 15 years so he had zero chance at "being picked" as the one to stay. They're loosing a lot of great employees and the way they're going about it is crap. They had the meeting last Tuesday with HR and SM's before anything including a press release leaked to the media it should've been addressed with the effected employees.

Hey does anyone know how much it costs in sponsorship money to put your company name

On the side of a race car per year??? We are talking MILLIONS perhaps they should've stopped sponsoring Jimmie Johnson in order to keep around the employees who know what they're doing, JS....

I also feel bad for the few left behind in this ordeal, I mean you're gonna take all the crap that was at least spread out over a team and throw it in just a couple of people's laps. Okay enjoy the CCIC's because they're too busy dealing with their actual jobs and now the crap that's thrown at them on top of it and can't deal with customers whining over my fridge was 5 minutes early/late outside of my delivery window and I want 25% off.......

If your husband works so hard he won't be the one to be let go.

Use common sense

As long as American shoppers continue to go to the big box retailers for all their stuff, and insist on paying only the lowest price, nothing will change, sadly.

Also as long as the mainstream media continues to worship the Wall St. casino, nobody ruining corporate America will ever get called out.

I worked for a retail compnay, Now out of business, that did the exact same thing. I got the ax after fifteen yrs., on the same day of my co-workers that had been there 10 to 40 yrs. also got let go. Only to be replaced with people of no or little knowledge of what actually built that company and made it what it is. If Lowes goes down that path, i give it two or 3 yrs before they no longer exist. Buy stock in HOME DEPOT now...
