Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Spring staffing Q and A paper sent out to ASTS and HRM's any comments?

Spring 2017 8010 General Selling Targets:

  1. Will there be any wiggle room at all with targets or are they a hard target that must be met? No at this time we need to stick to planned target.

  2. What is direction on retaining 8010 FWTs in stores? We are staying the cause.

  3. Non Complex Locations are taking a reduction, how does this affect them when they go to Complex, would we be rehiring some of those associates we reduced? Since the Complex will not rollout to the remaining doors until May of this year, and we have no idea what those budgets will be at this time, we will need to follow the guidelines for Ownership Targets for the Non-Complex doors as they are now.

  4. Will Henry’s Budget Ownership document allow us to conduct ‘What If’ scenarios for our stores, as there may be mapping issues that were unable to be captured during Q4 due to myconfig being closed? Spring target Ownership summary is available with “What If” tool. J:\Macys Retail\S\Staffing Services\Cental Staffing\2017 Budget will home accounts for 6602 be opened back of house, or will we need to request? FFR is owned in 2110 and scheduled in 6601/6602. There are no changes from Fall to Spring.

  5. We aren’t seeing the current actual FRR ownership on any reporting. The FRR targets show a--’16, not S’17? Target file has been updated to reflect 2017. Current ownership will be on the planning worksheets cascading by Thursday.

HRM Blank Worksheet:

  1. ‘New Position Number’ field has #N/A in the field - will position management #s for the new position the associate is being transferred/placed in be auto-populated? Active associates worksheet will auto-populated the PM#.

Questions Regarding Spring Transition

Spring 2017 AST Ownership:

  1. Loc 168 has been announced as ‘closing’ - why is there a Spring 2017 Target Ownership reflected for this store - is it because the store will be open for a period of time in actual Spring 2017 Over site, will be corrected with next revision.

  2. Loc 170 Commack - shows a reduction in staffing - yet in the last column labeled ‘Pilot District’, there is no ‘X’ Indicating that it is part of the Pilot District, also only Jersey City in NJC is showing as a pilot. Over site, will be corrected with next revision.

  3. FT ownership - does this include the AST supervisor in the total FT target? Yes Supervisor is included as one of the FT heads.

  4. What is the significance of the color coding used for stores on this document - there is no color code Key indicated? No significance has been removed.

  5. Why are the Furniture Galleries gaining 2 PT jobs in my district - currently (and historically) they have had only 1 AST team member - the AST Supervisor - will the workload/job description for these jobs be revised for Spring 2017. Targets have been revised for furniture galleries in DMET pilot districts, no changes to job descriptions at this time.

  6. Some stores own flex associates in AST. Is flex an option in the AST budget? TBD

  7. DSM’s reporting a 40-50% reduction in the AST budget. Is this due to the MyShop Execution Team Pilot? When will we see the targets for this pilot? DMET pilot districts have a further reduced AST budget based on transfer of workload. All DMET targets will be 4 FT for the pilot expansion (1 FT Supervisor that is an hourly executive and 3 FT team members)

Cosmetic Ownership HR 12-29-16 Final:

  1. Zone 442 FWT targets are not included on this document - will we receive zone 442 Cosmetics FWTs targets separately or will current document be revised and re-posted? Targets will be updated to the Ownership document and reposted later this week. You should anticipate lower targets based on a lower overall Spring Target Base.

  2. Can Benefit stand alone with 2 FT or should it be combined with Impulse? In locations that have Impulse, Benefit should be combined with Impulse. In the handful of locations that do not have Impulse, it may remain as a stand-alone scheduling zone.

  3. Seeing some Cosmetic Ownerships with only 1 FT but it’s listed as CM vs FT. Can the files be updated as single person lines should not have a CM? Direction from HR was to maintain any current CM if the target for Spring was 1 FT Associate. As those associates turn, they would be replaced with a FT BA, not a CM.

Backstage:

  1. How are backstage targets and req’s being handled? DSM will not have to communicate ownership to Backstage (Bobby and Jonathan are spearheading this), and the DSM will not have to open any req’s (Heather Devitt will be taking care of req’s, using the same timeline as Macy’s).

Misc.:

  1. Do you know where/when we’ll get the information for AP and Visual for Spring 17? As in past years, you can get target from Regional and District partners.

Oversight. Not over site.

The store color coding in 4.) means something.
