Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Aicha division head preparing massive layoffs in Intel mobile

With extreme skill and business acumen Aicha achieved massive improvements in Intel's profitability by over $1bn. She achieved this primarily by stopping settling Intel mobile SoCs.

Aicha has promised to double down on this feat with a similar saving in 2017. However this will take even more skill on Aicha's part since there are no sales to stop.

So how will she achieve her focal goals?

option A:

Increase sales by $5bn assuming 20% gross margin. This would involve taking over the entire baseband market, or

option B:

Let's assume each employee costs Intel $200,000 a year. To save a billion dollars that's a headcount reduction of 5,000 employees.

What do you think she will do?

what's fake?

Intel losses $2.5bn a year in mobile?

Aicha promised to break even by 2020?

The only way to reduce losses is by selling profitable product or reducing costs?
