Laying off 10,000 didnt help their stock increase.
More drastic cuts should happen
I heard last week many people in the corp office were let go. Many buyers and divisional merchandise manangers. I.am sure more to come. My advice is to get out out even if u were saved. Do u want to go thru this every year.
They were not really buyers just puppets
They could only buy merchandise from a vendor list. Not their fault.
and it is funny that it was in 2010 the ast positions were created to combine the jobs of the office managers, hra's, staffing managers and vault associates. now some stores are running on hardly anybody in ast. wasnt that the same year they did away with ops coordinators after creating the position just a year before.
Its called a slow death, it's not if your going to get laid off, it's when. Retail is dying and so is the sales manager, mtm, ast. Macy's is streamlining all positions. Remember type writer salesman?
The year has just started.
What about HR? Are they going to cut those people after they are done cutting everybody else?

These people needed to be let go whoever is buying the apparel/footwear has no idea what the customer wants.
