Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Our meeting is at 3:30 pm tomorrow (this is for Market 1287)

Me personally, I just want to get the details so we can move on from all the rumors.

I think this is so poorly managed from the corporate side, they are doing this like it's 1980, and workers are all kept in dark, etc. But now, everyone has an app and can find out what other employees think and know - this can be done very quickly.

Just get over with it.

I'm on vacation because you have to lose or use your vacation and holiday days , well they called me " ON VACATION " and said it is a mandatory meeting i must be there for a conference call and I know for a fact my SM and HR went to a said meeting last week and had seen both of them before I flew out for vacation and not 1 word was said about a " mandatory Meeting " . Then I get a text from one of the ASM's saying he was let go and my own ASM wont respond to my text . What a fricken nice vacation . Devoted 5+ years now to these people and then they want to do this ...............WOW is my only reaction . Even if I'm fortunate enough to not be let go its time to find other employment . There have been companies over the years doing some shady stuff but this tops the cake

Yes, very bad for the morale of ALL the employees...and this whole procedure really does stink. Our meeting is at 3:30 today, so finally we'll find out what the heck is really happening.....

I know it probably won't put food on the table...but the following MIGHT help with our mental health....but you gotta' believe in PMA [ Positive Mental Attitude ].....for it to really help......

They announced a substantial dividend for share holders of record as of the 25th of January while they are going so low to offer a reduced position to all DM's so that they will avoid having to contribute for unemployment insurance benefits. What a bunch of scumbags the executive team is behind this. There is going to be lots of injuries and claims, conversations with customers concerning how badly we are be treated and what a poor company Lowes is. This will ultimately prove to be detrimental to the future of Lowes. Lets face it, SM's and above really dont care because they are still getting their bonus and dont care about young families that they are adversely effecting off the backs of DM's. I know I could never have been a SM or above with this company, I am just too honest and I care about my team of hard working people at Lowes.

The company did this when a store I worked in was closed...come to the big meeting...oh hello...take your stuff out of your lockers and leave your vest and name tag with HR...bye bye..store is closed!

I am a Lowes DM and found out about meeting at 2 pm today for 3:30 Tuesday. Word spreads fast and the employees were stunned and shell shocked. Crappy environment to be in no matter what happens tomorrow!
