Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Sharp ax...Or dull shovel?

This has to be the biggest Cluster Buck attempted so far by Lowes.

They really are getting in line with the likes of Sears... and Kmart.

Death by a million dull box knife blades.

Whose going to talk to the customers when the *hit hits the fan on their installations.

Who will keep order to the chaos of all the installations... by getting them done in a timely manner.

This money saved by killing off full time employees...will kill the company in the end.

When I worked as a head cashier at Lowe's I heard the same BS. We are giving you 2 PT cashiers you get 50 hours instead of 40. No we didn't. They quickly cut the PT hours back to 15-20 hours each. Hey, sales are going to be slow so we have to do this. So we got 30-35 hours, at best, and they saved benefits. All so the store manager/HR/ASMs could make bonus targets. The customer be damned. The help on the floor be damned. The PT cashiers kept rolling over as they found better jobs so we kept training new ones. My good FT cashiers were tied up training. Then after the trainees got their Red Vest the were making the usual rookie mistakes such as mis-scanning and letting who knows how much product walk out the door. It is not easy being a cashier in a home improvement store. A Walmart cashier has to know the difference between a tomato and a cucumber for the scale. A Lowe's cashier has to know what products are sold by the foot not the piece. When boxes of tiles scan as 1 piece or 50 pieces. It is not easy and the cashiers and front end get sh-- up constantly by store management. Slow checks out leading to pissed off customers and the all too common complaint of this place is SLowe's not Lowe's. Lowe's has taken a definite slide in the past 3 years. Sad.

2 part timers will be hired to replace DMs who work 40 hrs and they will work 25 hrs a week giving you 10 more hours of coverage per department.

Are they related to the Third Reich.

Because this has been handled in kind of the same fashion.

Should we clear a wall for the losers...and supply a Lowes Knit Cap... to pull over their head... so they don't see it coming.

Bang!
