This is huge, some of the sites have lost up to 5 ASM's. No one expected layoffs of this proportion. It seems to me they are letting go the ones highest payed, regardless of their performance. I know nothing compares with losing your job, but after today, nothing shiny is waiting for the ones who stay.

I've been with Lowes 13 years.... a dm for the last 9. Lowes used to care about their employees.....we got holiday pay, a $35 'bonus' at thanksgiving...which later turned into a voucher you could use to get a turkey...then nothing.....spiffs went away, SSEI became increasingly impossible to attain ect. One of our best asm was fired today....wake up if you are still full time and think your job is safe just because you were not affected 'directly' today. They are probably already figuring out a way to replace you with 2 part timers who they will not have to pay benefits for. I will be opting out of the running to 'beg' for a service manager position.....the remaining asms's in our meeting today could barely contain their giddiness at the thought of 5 newbies to dump the sh-- jobs on. Good luck to us all....I used to hold Lowe's in such high regard......no more...

So far one DM is being told they have to re-apply for their job, and one ASM has been let go. But we were told he is now "on Vacation"......
We lost a good ASM. He was not part of the store manger/other asm click so he was let go. The last asm hired should of be let go first.
Our store wasn't salary-based. We actually lost the two bottom performers. I think if anyone in the store could have picked who they'd least like to see stay, those are the ones we'd all have picked. I consider us lucky, because I know that hasn't been the case everywhere.
When SPIFF's disappeared This no longer became a job I enjoyed coming in for. It's a paycheck.. Lowe's stopped caring at that point. Been downhill since.
