Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Deadline for new positions & what happens if...

Someone posted in a thread about staffing interviews that decisions on the new positions are on a 2-1 deadline instead of end of fiscal yr 1-27. Assuming that's a knowledgable statement, why 2-1? Any thoughts? Also, if husband doesnt want to apply or accept new position as cs5, is that immediate termination or they are forcing decision to quit? If the job description he's been hired to do is disappearing would he be eligible for unemployment? I'd think DM severance would be cheaper for company in most cases.
