Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

To union or not to union?

If you guys want a union now is the time. All it takes is a majority vote...course they will close your store down after it happens so does anybody win. I lost the fight. Time for all you all to take up the banner. No one else will. I can tell you this. If your interviewing for a position you better kiss their *ss because the manipulate the interview forms the way they want to. I've seen it.

Sure - Bring a union onboard and let them tap your wages every 2 weeks, Provoke battles with the company over some rotten eggs that need tossing, etc. Unions are a bad idea - the payback on investment is ridiculous and oh by the way - It breeds a Us vs Them mentality that is about as unproductive as you'll see and sets all managers against all hourly people. Oh yes, It means great things for the union but for individuals - Nada except a smaller paycheck and deviding up the store staff. Once you do that you can bet that EVERY action you take that is not perfectly in-line with company policy - will documented and used against you.
