Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Best companies to work for

Here's a question (admitidly tongue in cheek): why does oracle never make the Best Companies to work for list? Any thoughts?

Well yeah, between the layoffs and the push to pump up cloud revenues, the place's an utter hell hole

It's becoming increasingly toxic around here. Nobody is having fun, I can tell you that.

Because it is not a good company, from the employee perspective. Many NetSuite employees are worryied about the acquisition by Oracle. Not that NetSuite is on the complete up and up. Some employees left after the acquisition. I am a mature woman who has been around some big name companies. I have never worked in a more hostile environment than at Oracle/NetSuite.

@LrLeUiA-1nbu:

-1pnl is either Oracle HR/PR Monkey-On-Duty or some delusional s---up who believes that s/he will be spared at the next round of RIF's.

Up until 1/19 Oracle's PR Monkeys were denying that RIF"s were even happening. Now that it's at MN and The Register, they can't deny it anymore, so they spam this board with a different load of BS.

Not worth the time arguing with them.

@1pnl - what are you talking about your delusional fool, you obviously have no clue what the world outside of oracle looks like. Hint: much, much better. Now head straight to detox.

Oracle is a great company to work for. They have flexible working hours, a great work/life balance, offer great benefits and a competitive salary. I enjoyed my time working for Larry, Safra, and Mr. Hurd.

1goc - are you in HR? You're sure good at making sh.t up. There is no logic to your argument: oracle makes $10bn on profit each year ....

salesforce has 19k employees, whereas oracle has 138k employees. first you have lower visibility @ oracle, second oracle has less room to increase salaries, giving bonuses etc. it's not a surprise that oracle doesn't make the top of that list. it's same for any similar structured company as well e.g hp, cisco, etc.

That's why oracle has 2 ceos, they get twice the vote and end up on top. Only costs an extra $55m a year, but hey, who's counting?

of course it is! If you are one of the 2 CEOs at Oracle, everything is just peachy.

It's actually ranked the best company to work for by CEO magazine.

Oracle is a very cheap company. Made $10B profit a year but won't give a bonus to most employees. People stay because of the flexible working hours not because of the pay.

@khy - and that prevents oracle from doing better how? Why is Salesforce liked by its employees and oracle not so much?

If you think Oracle is in the bottom of the list check out Dell , HPE . All of them are sweatshops

Salesforce the largest cloud company and the one that will reach $10bn in revenues first, always does well. Is there a relationship there?
