Credit went today. They offered us a new position. Thanks, Lowe’s. 8 years of dedication and you just screwed me as well as the other who take on my workload with no pay increase.

From what I hear there will no longer be any ASM's the rest are going to go away ! There will be ASM Service 2 per store and a store manager , then you have your new service managers and a ASM for Sales.... Specialist also going away as well as coordinators, installs will be looking at changes also

They will make cuts once depot beats them in stock price again....

Its all about what depot is doing at corporate and stock price.

You are just a number at Lowes.

Please take sick time and spend time with your loved ones. Lowes will run u into the ground and burn you. Did me after 20 years

10 years with this company. I hired in as a specialist and worked my way up to manager. They were basically using this same system when I hired in and it didn't work then. They had managers covering 3 departments, but then they had team leaders to do the grunt work and the reports. Now they are wanting all of the CSA 5 to do the reports? Ummm, no. I even heard we were going to be used for inventory. Great planning corporate. Do they really want a bunch of pissed off people counting for them?? What makes me angry is that I have always taught others how to do things, including other managers, head cashiers, and ASMs, but Lowe's does not value my knowledge. I am stuck here awaiting my expiration date and am still asked by our new SMs how to do things. What a slap in the face! All of our new managers are men and 4 have 5 or less years with Lowe's. Another slap in the face is corporate telling us how generous they are for giving us a year at our current pay to find another job. What a load of crap!!! They are doing that so they don't have to pay unemployment. Do not insult my intelligence.

I heard round 2 or 3 is the credit Coordinator eliminated. Anybody heard this? Our store didn't keep it's best assets, it kept the core, female, have no technical experience whatsoever. No more experts in leadership roles.

As a manager from the good ol Circuit CIty days I learned pretty quickly that retail in a large setting such a CC and Lowes is like playing blackjack. I learned that corporate does not and will not look at you as a asset. Never have and never will. They are as cold as ice. You have to have that mind set. Forget about all this long term employment, forget about loyalty to the store, forget about we care about you BS. Its all smoke and mirrors. Lowes is growing and I bet the bank that lowes is asking a loan for told them to thin off the costs and you guys got stuck in the middle. I am sorry you are going though this.

Lazy people got laid off?? You mean the ASM's. The department managers didn't get laid off. If I don't get a Service Manager position. I will be part of the unofficial 2018 layoffs. Well I'll go part time.. Keep my leftover SPIFF money..

Part time employees do get benefits. It's crazy how everyone is so upset. At my store the employees laid off were the lazy poor preformers. Good riddance!

yes and you know they didn't tell the press, about the 6 or 7 department managers they didn't make the cut, will be layed off in a year. So that will be 6x1700 stores= 10200 employees, but big man gets 8 million dollars bonus, and we have a 40 million dollar a years race car, need i say more

Get through the busy season with the seasonal workers. Then the FT people on the floor will be the next target. Replace them with PT employees with no medical benefits. Hey we can get 50 hours a week out of 2 PT employees instead of 40 hours with benefits! At least until the SM says sales are slow and cut the PT employees to 15 hours a week. Lowes has sunk so much in the past 4 years. So happy to be out of there.

The rumor here in the contact center is they are going to get rid of 400-500 corporate workers today. Guess we will see. Has anyone else heard that?

I'd suspect a second round of layoffs would happen after the 100 days of hell. They'll keep the help around until the spring selling season is through -- then cast off the loyal workers.

Never seen them do it so fast.. Usually it's end of fiscal year.. Our thinking is they will try this out for a few years and when they realize it failed like with Depot they go back.. If it does work I see all ASM's gone since the Service managers are doing their job without the salary or bonus why need an ASM???
