I was laid off Dec 30th after 19 yrs service and was told when I turned in my paperwork that my Severance would be direct deposited...well gotta love these people as they sent a check which the bank will put a 2-3 week hold on before funds are available, anyone else experience this?

No mine was direct deposit. Took about 3 weeks from signing paperwork to deposit. STI was also direct deposit and 401k profit sharing arrived with no issue as well.
Last day Dec 30th . Direct deposit done on 20th last week.
No, mine was direct deposit, laid off December, 31 2015.
The way things are going, cross your fingers that the check doesn't bounce.
