It appears that the individuals that were terminated, i.e. permanently laid off, were the highest paid and many times the highest performers. This will leave a reduced and less efficient force. This is the only thing LOWES has in there direct competition with Home Depot. I will never shop at Lowes again. I buy a few thousand dollars of merchandize if not more each year. This was not done in a fair manner.

I heard that anyone laid off was required to sign a non compete and that the list of competitors is so long it's making it hard for those impacted to find new employment. Is this true? I haven't seen the company names.
You are wrong. They did it let the highest paid go. It was based on a number of factors. It also has nothing to do with performance or seniority. Corporate has to approve all ASM lay offs, and they have to approve the choices made at the store level for these promotions for DM's who opted in.
I personally know a veteran who was employed at Lowes as a ASM and recently permanently laid off. This individual was a very respected and effective ASM. This individual was respected by all of his colleagues as well as respected by his customers.
I'm deeply disappointed by Lowes decision to discontinue this ASM/ Veteran's job and I will never purchase any products from Lowes from this day forward.
Last but not least Lowes discontinued this ASMs job and then wants this individual to sign a non- compete contract in order for him to collect his severance pay/bonus. In my view Lowes kicked this individual in the rear and then want to prevent this individual from his livelihood and stop his ability to support his family in the career/field that he knows,loves and excels at!!!!!
All very true........Employee's who have worked hard for Lowe's , have had high work ethic's , and excellent job performance records.........what's left . Sad.
