Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Check your umemployment guidelines for your state. In some states you will only get partial weeks and some you will receive nothing. .

Some states calculated your weekly benifit by subtracting the states average income from your severance then dividing the balance by 26 weeks. If that dollar amount exceeds that you'll get nothing. If it does not exceed it you will only get the balance and that will be at the end once you go through your severance.

Read your states unemployee benifit eligibility pertaining to your severance pay , you may not be entittled to your full benifits in some cases and it is possible you could get nothing depending on your total severence payout.
