Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Rumor has it that Verizon will delay layoff this week due to fear of Trump administration.

Rumor from good source that Verizon is delaying layoff for this week due to fear of bad press from Trump administration. It will happen in Q1 but not this week. Watch out for spin from VZW.

@Lum1biV-3gjs - They do according to federal law. Maybe you should sue:

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN Act) is a United States labor law which protects employees, their families, and communities by requiring most employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60 calendar-day advance notification of plant closings and mass layoffs of employees, as defined in the Act.

They do not have to give you 60 days notice. In 2015 January 15th- I was told I was being laid off at the end of February which was out STI pay out day. That gave me about 40 days to try to apply for a different position on the company. We are all just guessing here with different rumors, and it's up to us to believe a version of it or not. However this information does have to stem from something. All we can do is try our best to plan for an eventual layoff because nobody is safe unfortunately.

Well, its all over the news that Verizon just axed 155 Go90 employees. I guess McDumbass couldn't resist going a month without firing someone.

That makes little to no sense. WARN act requires 60 days notice. If you want them off payroll by the end of Q1, then notices will have to go out this week.

If not, then it will get pushed to Q2.

That implies some degree of intelligence from upper managements. So with that in mind, I doubt this is true.
