This you could maybe argue the fact that the playing field was level. The reason the terminated ASM were not given this opportunity is because we had already been selected. Just wrong on so many levels..........

Here is a tip.. Buy Puts and Short this thing. Feb earnings are going to tank this pig. It's overpriced because Depot carries Lowe's under it's wing. On;y reason the stock is half of Depot is because of affiliation nothing else.
It is absolutely clear what Lowes is doing - cost cutting at the expense of many loyal employees' livelihood and well-being. It is certain that at some time a corporate employee called these very people "stakeholders." (They do love their jargon.) I wonder how many of them feel like stakeholders now? Salary scales will generally be lower for the DMs than it was for the ASMs. It is laughable that they call this a "new staffing model." Remember "lay-offs," "downsizing," "right-sizing," and now "new staffing model?" What overpaid sniveling toady of the executive circle devised the term "new staffing model?" He/she will surely receive a wonderful bonus for that bit of creative drivel. There were ASMs who were let go who spent decades with Lowes . Smacks of age-discrimination, doesn't it?
It was a piece of sh-- company, I was let go when they eliminated all the dm positions in October 2015. We all had to interview for 3 positions but it was just a dog and pony show cause the already knew who was going to get the positions. My store manager was part of the process but he was getting transferred and wasn't even going to be there anymore! At least this time they get to keep their pay for a year. Should have never signed the document agreeing not to take action so we could get our severance for not doing it. Should have sued their a-- and I hope they go under.
The better way for Lowes to have done this would have been to let each ASM interview and speak for themselves, bringing in a third party that is fair to determine. That's the problem though, Lowes doesn't play fair. No matter how the process played out, they predetermined who was going. And to the smart asses out there, this has affected families, destroyed some. Until it happens to you, you have no idea. Overall this boiled down to money. For the most part older, higher paid individuals were let go. It's painful to know they placed people's entire careers in the hands of SM and HR. And from what I have witnessed first hand, the SM kept his buddies.
Yes you are correct ASM at our place was fired on the spot and walked out of the building and was not allow to return. They didn't even allow one of our ASM's to collect her things. She left in tears because they were so hateful to her. I was ashamed to be apart of Lowes at that moment. She had been with the store for over 5 years with the company for more than ten. It was gut wrench to watch. It will take a long time for me to get over it.
No
There wasn't a single mention from the sm about having any kind of opportunity to interview. It was "your out of a job", "you don't fit the new requirements" and "give me your keys now". The company speaks about caring about their employees, which is nothing more than public relations gibberish. The reality is they don't care (why do you think every employee is always so scared about being fired).
